Hit-and-run victim speaks about ordeal; 7-year-old Lola Cassidy struck by dark green sedan in McHenry

A 7-year-old girl who was struck by a hit and run driver is talking about her ordeal.

It happened while she was walking her dog with her older sister in far north suburban McHenry.

Lola Cassidy says they walking along a bike path and started to cross the street when the driver hit her.

Cassidy flew over the car and suffered a concussion, cuts, and bruises.

Police say the driver hesitated before speeding away.

"I wanted to go to the sidewalk, and I started walking over there with my dog, and then I saw the car coming so I started running," Lola said. "A lot of people are saying I was brave."

Police are searching for the hit and run driver who was in a dark green colored sedan.
