Popular Batkid shirts back online for preorder

SAN FRANCISCO

Miles loves superheroes, none more so than Batman. Much like Batman battles villains, Miles has been fighting his own battle with leukemia since he was just a year old. Miles is now in remission and he got his chance to be Batkid for the day with the help of Make-A-Wish of the Greater Bay Area, the city of San Francisco and thousands of well-wishers.

The man who designed the special shirts is San Francisco Police Chief Greg Suhr's son, Matt. Suhr originally planned for 500. Instead, he sold 1,800.

The shirts raised $10,000 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

T-shirt designer Matt Suhr said people just wanted to be part of something that was so positive.

"Once we put out the first one, it all took off from there," he said. "We've all had a cape at some point. Miles took on this whole thing where he wanted to be everyone else's savior when he's going through something where most people might be a little more cynical or self-centered."

100 percent of the proceeds from the shirts go to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Right now the t-shirts are sold out. But they're available for preorder online. To get your Batkid shirt, click here.
