Study: Depression may be linked to insomnia

November 19, 2013

Researchers in Toronto found that depression therapy was significantly more effective when coupled with insomnia treatment.

The findings are based on a treatment called cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia, or CBTI.

Through a series of sessions, doctors change your sleep schedule, train your body that your bed is only for sleeping and forces patients to get up when they can't sleep.

Researchers claim a 40-percent decrease in depression symptoms.
