Emmanuel Dominguez of Summit was last seen November 2 at a party near Damen and Walnut.
Police say Dominguez was found with multiple stab wounds in Gary two days after he vanished.
But they had to wait for the results of a DNA test to identify his remains because he had been badly burned.
Dominguez was a bartender at the Dana Hotel on Chicago's Near North Side.
A wake for Dominguez will be held Sunday at Curley Funeral Home in Chicago Ridge, and a Monday burial is planned.
