Police chief's wife hired without training in Robbins, Illinois

December 1, 2013 (ROBBINS, Ill.)

The Chicago Sun-Times reports Quanda Dubose became a part-time officer in Robbins after she didn't finish basic training in 2011. She's the wife of acting Chief Hashi Jaco. The newspaper cites state records.

Dubose declined to comment to the newspaper. A listed number was disconnected. A department official says she no longer works there.

Jaco took over for Mel Davis, who was fired in November. State records show Dubose was granted leave by Davis to enroll in the academy.

The Robbins Police Department came under fire this year when numerous sexual assault kits never submitted for analysis were found in an evidence room.
