Body found near missing Libertyville woman Anne Stroll's home

December 3, 2013 (LIBERTYVILLE, Ill.)

Authorities in Lake County have not confirmed the identity of the body. Anne Stroll's husband, Michael Stroll, told ABC7 Eyewitness News on Tuesday night he is holding out hope that it is not his wife, who has been missing a day and a half.

Michael says Monday afternoon he returned home from a doctor's appointment to find a note from Anne saying she had gone on that bike ride, something she did often in and around their subdivision.

After a while, he says he became worried and called 911 when his calls to her went unanswered. Michael says investigators tracked a cell phone signal to nearby Independence Grove Forest Preserve, where an initial search turned up nothing.

Eyewitness News spoke with Michael before he knew that a body had been found.

"We don't know if foul play has been done. We don't know if she has hit her head, and she's lying in a ditch someplace with her bike. We don't know anything, Eric. Nothing," said Michael Stroll.

The body of the unidentified woman was discovered near Independence Grove Forest Preserve, which is close to the Libertyville subdivision where the Strolls live.
