Meningitis outbreak at Princeton, UC Santa Barbara puts Northwestern University on alert

There were no cases confirmed on Northwestern's Evanston campus Wednesday.

A student from the University of California at Santa Barbara lost both his legs below the knee after being diagnosed with a rare strain of meningitis.

Weeks earlier, eight students at Princeton were diagnosed with a different strain of the illness.
