One protected lane would be on a section of Clybourn Avenue, where bicyclist Bobby Cann was struck and killed by a car last spring.
It would run between Division Street and North Avenue.
The other would run on State Street between 26th Street and Garfield Boulevard.
The barriers are part of 2014 projects that are being considered by the Chicago Department of Transportation.
