January 8, 2014

The students were in assembly around 8:30 AM Wednesday when the pipe burst in the ceiling. Officials said ceiling tiles fell to the lobby floor and water flooded a corridor, main office and some classrooms. The students were taken to the Des Plaines Park District Leisure Center, which is located just behind the school, where parents picked them up.

All classes, including SPARK and kindergarten, were canceled on Wednesday, January 8. Officials are assessing the damage and will determine whether it will be open on Thursday, January 9.

Students were not allowed to retrieve personal belongings, but could ask ICS staff for help.
