Metra says cars are being taken out of service for a variety of reasons.
The head of the Regional Transportation Authority is pushing for a review of Metra's performance during the recent arctic cold snap. Last week, There were numerous train delays, cancellations and communication break-downs that disrupted the commute for thousands of Metra passengers.
Metra apologized for the delays, saying the commuter railroad did the best it could in the extreme conditions.
