Nevada Hicks, 18, faces one count of first-degree murder for the death of a 22-year-old man on Dec. 8, 2013, according to Chicago Police.

Demarco Lyons was walking on the sidewalk in the 300 block of West 60th Place about 2:45 p.m. when someone approached and shot him in the chest, authorities said at the time.

Police said the suspect drove off in a gray four-door vehicle.

Lyons, of the 6000 block of South Princeton Avenue, was pronounced dead at the scene. An autopsy found he died of multiple gunshot wounds and his death was ruled a homicide.

Police said Lyons was a parolee with gang affiliations.

Hicks, of the 5500 block of South Paulina, is expected to appear in bond court Thursday.
