The accident happened Monday night near Pulaski and Congress in Garfield Park. The 13-year old was crossing the street around 7 p.m. when police say the driver hit the boy, then took off down Pulaski heading south.
The boy was taken in serious-to-critical condition to Mount Sinai Hospital, Chicago Fire Department Media Affairs spokesman Joe Roccasalva said.
Area North detectives are investigating.
