A New Zealand man has quite the shark tale. Over the weekend, James Grant was out spear fishing with friends when he says he had a run-in with a shark.

He claims the shark was biting his leg and he was able to fight the fish off by repeatedly stabbing it until it let go.

Grant says he stitched up his own wound, and then went to a local pub to share his fish story over a few beers.

Afterwards, he went to the hospital to let a doctor finish stitching him up.
