The fight over whether to preserve the name of a Chicago high school was the subject of a meeting Wednesday night.

The battle is bringing together people who graduated from Gordon Tech on the Northwest Side. They don't like the idea that the name may be changed to DePaul College Prep.

The school recently announced a partnership with the university.

"The school pretty much helped me become the man I am today, I owe the school a lot and the name means a lot to me," said Alan Carter, alumnus.

Any decision to change the name will be made by a group made up of Roman Catholic priests, brothers and seminarians who founded Gordon Tech and many other Chicago area schools.
