Illinois politics is put aside for pets as Governor Pat Quinn and Comptroller Judy Baar Topinka joined forces to promote pet adoption at Chicago PAWS Sunday.

In addition to a tour of the no-kill shelter, Topinka highlighted the Comptroller's Critters program.

Since 2011, that program has worked with shelters across Illinois to find good homes for more than 2,000 cats and dogs.
