Pet adoption promoted by Quinn, Topinka; Illinois governor, comptroller attend event at Chicago PAWS

Illinois politics is put aside for pets as Governor Pat Quinn and Comptroller Judy Baar Topinka joined forces to promote pet adoption at Chicago PAWS Sunday.

In addition to a tour of the no-kill shelter, Topinka highlighted the Comptroller's Critters program.

Since 2011, that program has worked with shelters across Illinois to find good homes for more than 2,000 cats and dogs.
