Chicago police officers were called to Mayhall's apartment in the 5700-block of North Winthrop on February 9, 2014 around 4 p.m. Inside, they found a strong smell of cannabis and observed several plants when Mayhall opened the door, officials said. Mayhall agreed to a search of his apartment, officers said, and police seized 49 plants, various lights, fans and grow tents, they said.
Mayhall was charged with one felony count of Production of Cannabis-Plants and one count of misdemeanor Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
