The lawsuit was filed in Cook County Circuit Court on behalf of an 8-year-old boy who 20-year-old Robert Sobczak admitted to molesting.
Sobczak was a volunteer at Willow Creek Community Church in South Barrington.
In December, he pleaded guilty to aggravated criminal sexual abuse and was sentenced to two years in prison.
