Voter registration deadline Tuesday

The deadline to register to vote in the March primaries is Tuesday and for the first time most 17-year-olds are eligible.

The Chicago Board of Elections at 69 West Washington in the Loop is open special hours to register new voters.

For the first time, United States citizens born on or before November 4, 1996 can cast ballots in the March 18 primary.

Registration hours Monday are between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m., and Tuesday from 9 a.m. to midnight.
