'Dibs' ends Monday; Garbage collectors to pick up items left on Chicago streets

February 21, 2014 (CHICAGO)

The City of Chicago said garbage crews will start picking up whatever "dibs" items are left on the streets Monday. Therefore, owners who want to keep their lawn chairs and ironing boards to mark spots during the next snow better get them out of the street over the weekend.

City officials said the snow is melting, so there's no need for people to mark – and lay claim - to the spots they shoveled out in one of Chicago's winter traditions.
