New veterans center opens at Rush University Medical Center

Veterans can receive help assistance with combat-related conditions, such as post-traumatic stress disorder.

There are also outreach programs to connect veterans with job training programs.

"It is definitely something that we need, it's that whole wrong door approach so for the veterans who don't make it through the VA or some other facility, they can come through the doors here at rush," said U.S. Rep. Tammy Duckworth.

Services are also available for families of veterans, including counseling and parenting support.
