We've heard a lot about Bigfoot recently, but this mysterious creature is making headlines.
CNN reports that Doug and Lucy Ohrt of Victoria County came face to face with the strange-looking animal Sunday evening, and their grandson shot it.
But its features -- long legs and big teeth -- raise big questions about whether it's a coyote or the mythical creature.
Josh Turner, a wildlife biologist with Texas Parks and Wildlife, said many people claim to have seen a chupacabra, but it turns out to be nothing more than a wild animal with mange nearly every time.
"There's a mythical creature that most people see," Turner said. "But what it really is sarcoptic mange, which is caused by a mite that bites the animal, and it can be pretty much on any mammal."
The name chupacabra means "goat sucker," and the creature is said to suck the blood of livestock.
