Mayor Rahm Emanuel and former Chicago Bear Israel Idonije stopped by to make good on a promise they made on Windy City LIVE last July. When they were on the show last, the two issued a challenge to Chicago's children: as part of the start of the first citywide Chicago Summer of Learning and "Rahm's Readers" program, if children read a total of 2 million books, the Mayor and Indonije promised to do the Chicago Polar Plunge. The children of Chicago surpassed their goal!
We also catch up with Mayor Rahm about being named Chicago's Most Powerful Person by Chicago Magazine, the new digital lab and "My Brother's Keeper" initiative just unveiled by the President.
The Polar Plunge will take place Sunday, March 2 and North Avenue beach from 10am-12pm. All of the money raised benefits Special Olympics Chicago. For more information, visit sochicago.org/chicago-polar-plunge
