Ramsey, New Jersey jewelry store robbed; Workers tied up

RAMSEY, New Jersey

The incident took place on Route 17 and Airmount Avenue in Bergen County.

Police say two men barged into Aydin Jewelry store and claimed they were FBI agents investigating a possible meth lab. One suspect was dressed in a royal blue jump suit with a hood.

Moments later, one of the robbers pulled out a handgun and zip tied three store employees.

The workers were put in a back room giving the robbers time to steal jewelry from a safe and display cases.

After the suspects took off, workers at the deli next door freed the victims.

"They told us they were robbed. I untied him," a worker named Safi said.

Cindy DeFranco works next door at velvet hair salon. She can't believe this happened just before noon along busy Route 17 in Ramsey.

"The owners are such sweet men. I can't believe it," she said. "Ramsey Is such a great place. Thank god no one was hurt."
