Ohio Turnpike crash kills 3; victims ID'd

More than 40 cars were involved in the pileup, which spanned more than a mile on the Ohio Turnpike Wednesday. There were two crash zones, one at milepost 102 and one at milepost 101.

The first crash area involved 16 vehicles. Two people were killed - Hannah Matheny, 20, of Parma, Ohio, and Grzegorz A. Piwowarczyk, 42, of Palatine. Piwowarczyk was driving a commercial vehicle, police said.

About 20 cars were involved in the second crash zone. Janice M. Robb, 66, of Schererville, Ind., was killed.

A trooper was also injured. Trooper Andrew Clouser, 29, remains hospitalized in Sandusky in an intensive care unit.

The crash is under investigation.
