The ice dancing pair are competing against each other, on the new season which debuted Monday night. White had the high scores for the night, with Davis near the top. Double-amputee Amy Purdy awed the judges. She dances on two artificial legs. Carrie Ann Inaba says she was shocked at how well Purdy moves on the dance floor.
Drew Carey got high marks for going for more than laughs. But Billy Dee Williams may be looking at a quick exit. He was far behind the pack with the lowest scores for the first night. We'll find out who's the first to be sent home next Monday night.
One contestant on ''Dancing With the Stars'' is black and blue already.
Candace Cameron Bure writes in People that she's covered in bruises and is "incredibly sore and beat up" even before the first episodes aired Monday night. Bure and her partner Mark Ballas did a contemporary dance. The stars had a choice of doing that or a cha-cha or fox trot.
The other stars include NeNe Leakes of "The Real Housewives of Atlanta," Danica McKellar, who played Winnie on "The Wonder Years," and Cody Simpson.

Olympian Charlie White and his partner, Sharna Burgess, started the season strong: triple nines for their contemporary number--and a first place finish.
"You know, I'm used to being judged, was hoping for tens, so that makes me hungry," White said.
Bure and Ballas landed in second place, scoring 25 for their contemporary dance.
"I gave it my all, judges saw that and I'm really, really pleased," Bure said.
With 24 points, we saw a three-way tie for third. In the bottom two slots, Diana Nyad and Billy Dee Williams.
Week 2 of "Dancing With the Stars" will feature dances that the stars said they were most looking forward to perform on the show and the season's first elimination.
