Recordings released by the Federal Aviation Administration show a Southwest Airlines pilot apparently had no idea he was flying into the wrong airport until he landed.

Neither did the air traffic controller he was talking to.

"Southwest 4013, cleared to land, runway 14."

"I assume I'm not at your airport?"

    "Southwest 4013, have you landed?"

    "Did you watch Southwest 4013?"

    "Yeah. Why?"

"He says he landed at the wrong airport."

    "Are you kidding?"

    "Yeah. No I'm not."

Southwest Airlines Flight 4013 left Midway International Airport in January for the airport in Branson, Missouri.

Instead, the plane landed at a much smaller airport about six miles away.
