Arriving to work this morning and seeing the aftermath of the shooting outside of his convenience store was quite unnerving for Omar Khalil.
"Crazy, it is scary too. I hope everyone is okay. I'm praying for everybody," said King Market employee Omar Khalil.
Police say a man opened fire on a crowd at Turk and Taylor in San Francisco's Tenderloin District at 9 last night. Witnesses say the gunman was sitting in his car when he got into an argument.
"The guy got out and started shooting. The people started running, they all scattered. I saw people falling," said witness Robert Carroll.
Police have not made any arrests, but said it looks like the shooter was mad about a dice game. He shot eight people - but police say his intended target safely got away. The victims were taken to the hospital, but have all been treated and released.
People who live and work in the Tenderloin are upset and scared. Two police officers are keeping watch over the intersection today and say investigators are looking at surveillance tape from the several cameras perched in the area. Still, without an arrest locals worry about the impact.
"This is scary. When people see this nobody is going come and this hurts the whole city, not just business," said Khalil.
Police said a black man got into the passenger side of a silver sedan and was driven away from the scene after the shooting. They are looking at surveillance video to try and get a better look at that car.
