The victim was taken to Skokie Valley Hospital, and remains in intensive care there. His or her condition has not been released.
Police have blocked off nearly a mile-long stretch of road as they investigate a shooting inside of a home in the 800-block of North Happ Road.
Several people in the neighborhood said it is common knowledge that Chicago rapper Chief Keef either lives at the home or spends a lot of time there. Eyewitness News has reached out to his manager and attorney to try to find out whether he was here at the time of the shooting, but have not heard back from either.
Police say the shooting "appears to be an isolated incident." Northfield officials also said police believe the community safe.
Northfield authorities and the North Regional Major Crimes Task Force are both investigating.
