South Shore burglaries on rise, Chicago Police Department says

Chicago police issued an alert Tuesday warning South Shore neighborhood residents about an increase in burglaries.

Burglaries occurred throughout the month of March on South Shore Drive between 72nd and 74th streets, according to the community alert from Area Central detectives.

Police advise residents to make sure all doors and windows are locked, and pay special attention to anyone loitering in the area.
