The egg was actually laid by a pair at Columbus Zoo but the parents had difficulties incubating the egg due to the Arctic blast that swept through Ohio. The egg was brought to Brookfield Zoo, based on a recommendation of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums Humboldt Penguin Species Survival Plan, and given to foster parents to continue the incubation process. The chick hatched on February 20 and is progressing very well. (Photo&#47;Jim Schulz)</span></div>
