The McHenry County Sheriff's Office responded to the scene of a one-vehicle crash at approximately 5:09 p.m. that occurred in the 16600 block of Church Road, in unincorporated Coral Township in north suburban Huntley, a news release said.

Police say a 2006 Chrysler 300 was traveling westbound on Church Road and for unknown reasons, left the roadway to the south where it crossed a ditch and a driveway before striking two trees.

The driver of the Chrysler, Cynthia L. Pauza, 41, of Huntley, who was wearing a seatbelt, was pronounced deceased at the scene, the release said.

About two hours earlier, Cindy Schultz, 50, was pronounced dead following a one-car crash in southwest suburban Chicago Ridge. Chicago Ridge police say she lost control of her vehicle and struck a tree around 1:15 p.m. as she was driving southbound on Ridgeland Avenue near the intersection of 106th Street. Police say she drove off the road and struck a tree on the west side of the street.

She was the only person in the vehicle, and no one else was hurt, police said.

Schultz, of the 10300 block of South Normandy Avenue in Chicago Ridge, was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where she died at 2:56 p.m.
