The Portage County Sheriff's Department says the 17-year-old suspect turned himself in on Thursday.
His family brought him to the Portage Police Department after a surveillance photo was released.
The photo was taken March 29 at a convenience store in South Haven, Indiana.
Police say the teen displayed a handgun to the store clerk before running away with cash and a couple cartons of cigarettes.
