The extra money is left over from completed city projects and federal grants.
So far in 2014, more than 350,000 Chicago potholes have been repaired, and 20,000 potholes were filled just in the last six days.
In the past three years combined, the city received just more than 2,400 claims.

- Using ChiText by texting "Chicago" to 311311 to start the reporting process
