Reward for 'Hooded Bandit' up to $5,000

Up to $5,000 is being offered as a reward for the "Hooded Bandit," a suspect in several recent armed suburban bank robberies.

The bandit, who is described as a white male between 50-60 years old, is a suspect in the latest robbery at the Chase Bank at 133 West Grand in Bensenville that occurred Monday. He is described as between 5'8" and 6'0", approximately 165 pounds with gray facial hair.

The bandit is wanted in other robberies that were reported in 2013 at Charter One Bank branches in Rolling Meadows and Wood Dale as well as a Harris Bank branch in Wood Dale. A different Chase Bank location in Bensenville reported a robbery in December 2013. In at least one of the robberies, the bandit was carrying a silver semi-automatic handgun according the FBI.

The reward is being offered for information leading to the capture of the bandit. Those are encouraged to contact the FBI in Chicago at 312-421-6700.
