Woman seeks help locating dog after Lake Michigan ice rescue

April 21, 2014 (CHICAGO)

On March 8, firefighters responded to a call of a dog on the ice near the 1600 block of North Lake Shore Drive. They used a helicopter to drive the dog back to land, but were unsuccessful in attempts to corral the dog. Fire officials believed the dog was a stray and turned over the investigation to Animal Care & Control.

The dog's owner says the dog has been missing since March 8, but was seen last week near the tennis courts at Balbo and Columbus.

The owner has released a new photo of the dog. She's asking that if anyone sees her dog to contact her at (773)636-3245, or call 311, and do not chase him.
