The Chicago Department of Family and Support Services (DFSS) is warning Chicagoans that a flyer circulating via social media and promising 10,000 or more summer jobs from the City of Chicago is fraudulent and should be completely ignored.

The flyer instructs interested applicants to go to The Thompson Center on May 1 to apply. However, the City of Chicago does not conduct registration events for summer employment. People should not go to the West Randolph address listed on the flyer.

The only way to apply for youth employment with the City of Chicago is to go through the online application at www.onesummerchicago.org. The application period for One Summer Chicago is open now through May 16.
