Vigil held for Chicago woman killed after anti-violence fundraiser

May 2, 2014 (CHICAGO)

The vigil for Lenore Draper was held Friday night at 116th and Laflin.

She was shot and killed last Friday as she returned to her home in the city's West Pullman community. Police say she was caught in the crossfire between two rival gangs.

Her family hopes those who attend will pick up where Draper left off.

"We certainly want them to reach out and do what they can against this violence that is just plaguing Chicago," said Charla Draper, cousin.

Police have not made any arrests. Draper was a budget analyst for Chicago Public Schools.
