May 8, 2014

Stojak, 46, of Chicago, asked his mother to buy the ticket on April Fool's Day. But little did he know, she bought him a winning ticket for the $2,500,000 Jackpot.

When his mother, Shirley, called to tell him he had won, he thought she was joking.

"I went on www.illinoislottery.com and when I saw the ticket there, I knew it was real!" Stojak said.

Stojak said he plans to share his winnings with his mother, and also plans to take a vacation.

"She is an amazing mother, I'm so happy I can help her," he said.

The winning ticket was purchased at Jewel Osco, 5667 West Touhy Ave., in Niles.

"Thanks to my mother, I won $2,500,000! I am planning something super special for her on Mother's Day!" Stojak said.
