Boy with autism found on Near West Side reunited with guardian

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A 10-year-old boy with autism found walking along I-290 on Chicago's Near West Side Monday has been reunited with his legal guardian, Illinois State Police said.

State police said the boy was found walking on the westbound Eisenhower Expressway at Ashland Avenue around 5 p.m. Monday. He was reunited with his grandmother, who is his legal guardian, Monday night, police said.

State police said how and why the boy made it onto the expressway remain under investigation.
