CHICAGO (WLS) -- There's a new push to get loans to small neighborhood businesses in Chicago.
Mayor Rahm Emanuel kicked off a series of "Connecting to Cash" events. Approximately $700,000 of so-called "microloans" are available to small businesses to help them grow or keep their doors open.
"The whole effort is to grow jobs, grow the economy, grow the businesses and help everyone to achieve your dream," Emanuel said.
The "Connecting to Cash" events are co-hosted by the Women's Business Development Center and Chicago Neighborhood Initiatives.
