Cook County adds online property tax assessment appeals

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Cook County homeowners now have a high-tech way to appeal their property tax assessments.

Homeowners and other property owners now can upload appraisals, photographs and other documents to the board of appeals website.

The system is designed to make filing appeals easier for taxpayers while creating a more transparent process.

The cook county board of review says the new technology will save 2 million pieces of paper a year.
