CHICAGO (WLS) -- Motor Row Brewing will open a brewery near McCormick Place on the city's South Side in January.

Mayor Rahm Emanuel is scheduled to cut the ribbon on the 8,700 sq. ft. facility on Friday. It houses brewing operations, distribution space, a tasting room and a full taproom.

The microbrewery is part of a $2.7 million redevelopment of the former Federal Motor Car Co. showroom in the 2300-block of South Michigan Avenue near McCormick Place.
