CHICAGO (WLS) -- With only a few days left before Christmas, UPS says they expect Monday, Dec. 22, to be the busiest day in the company's history.

It expects to deliver 34 million packages Monday, which would top the previous record high set last week.

UPS spent $500 million preparing for the holidays, and are utilizing a new automated system which scans packages and flashes instructions to workers.

That system allows them to process 15 percent more packages a day.
