Veterans invited to nonprofit job fair at University of Chicago

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Veterans are invited to attend the nation's first nonprofit hiring fair, which is being held at the University of Chicago.

Active duty military members, guard members, reserve members and military spouses are also invited to the Hiring Our Heroes event.

The job fair is sponsored by the McCormick Foundation and is designed to present employment opportunities within local nonprofit organizations to the military community.

Following a nonprofit employment workshop for those transitioning back to civilian life, the hiring fair is scheduled from 12-3 p.m. on Wednesday at the university's Ida Noyes Hall in the 1200-block of East 59th Street in Chicago.
