CHICAGO (WLS) -- Elite pilots are teaming up and taking to the skies for a spectacular performance at this weekend's Air & Water Show.

"It's just a bunch of airplanes operating as one is magical," said Bill Stein. He's one-fourth of the team known as The 4ce, but flying wasn't his original job.

"I worked in Silicon Valley. I was a computer guy and I loved that as well. Being really good at something is what it's all about," he explained. "But it's so much fun to be a part of this because it's a family, there's a real family atmosphere."

After selling his company he decided to fulfill his dream of spending all his time beyond the clouds.

"It's a total Zen thing, there's no time when you're in the airplane. It could be two minutes or 45 minutes, you know. There's no me and the airplane. You're just one on this journey. It's a very cool thing to be able to feel that and experience that," Stein said.

Before every flight the team goes over there routine in the simplest way.

"You get to envision what's going on. All the things you have to pay attention to while you're doing your flight. So it's called a walk-through - or a handy - and it is just the one time for you to become one with the sequence and hop in and go do it," he said.

Each plane zipping through the sky brings a different element to the show.

"The one cool thing about The 4ce is that it's four different kinds of airplane with different fortes, you know, things they do the best. So when we break up and do all the crazy stuff, we're doing different kinds of stuff and it's more entertaining in our minds," Stein said.
