Looking back on ABC7's fearless fliers
It's Air & Water Show week and we're giving you a preview every day of this weekend's big show.

CHICAGO (WLS) -- It's Air & Water Show week and we're giving you a preview every day of this weekend's big show.

The Blue Angels, a crowd favorite, is back at the Chicago Air and Water Show this year.

There have been a lucky few who have been able fly with this elite group of pilots. Here's a look back at some of our colleagues who got the ride of a lifetime.

Jets go 15,000 feet in a matter of seconds. It's a ride none of our colleagues will ever forget.

Ryan Chiaverini was among ABC7's fearless fliers in 2006, getting a once in a lifetime chance to ride in one of these marvels of the sky.

Last year, Tanja Babich really felt the air acrobatics of the Thunderbirds do a job on her stomach. She was ok, but had to take a few moments to regain her composure.

In 2012, Michelle Gallardo felt what it's like to top 400 miles per hour.

It was easy at first for Cheryl Scott in 2015 when she felt the zero-gravity of a famous Blue Angels rolling maneuver. She nearly passed out.

The sensation is almost overwhelming for anyone flying close to the speed of sound.

In 2014, Terrell Brown didn't hesitate to jump into the passenger seat to get a view from the top like no other.

Our fearless fliers have been flying high for many years including, Jim Rose and John Garcia.

But it's Joel Daly's time in the sky as a 1980 wing walker we won't soon forget. Joel said he learned a few things after his wing walker experience. Among them, to not eat a hot dog before taking flight!

Former ABC7 anchor Joel Daly became a wing walker for a 1980 piece about a Chicago area air show.
