CHICAGO -- Chicago artist and urban planner, Theaster Gates, stopped by Windy City LIVE to discuss the Rebuild Foundation.

Gates founded the Rebuild Foundation, a platform for art, cultural development, and neighborhood transformation on Chicago's South Side.

The foundation's annual benefit, "Sock Hop! A Night with Rebuild Foundation and Friends," is being held on Friday, September 15 at 9:30pm at St. Laurence School.

The benefit will feature art by Arthur Jafa and music by Meshell Ndgeocello.

The Sock Hop will kick off Rebuild Foundation's Retreat for Black Artists, a weekend of programming that runs from September 15 - 17.
