CHICAGO (WLS) -- It is almost time to head back to school, and the Carole Robertson Center for Learning (CRCL) is hosting a Back to School - Scavenger Hunt Festival to get the children ready.
Cerathel Burnett, CEO of the CRCL, and retired NBA veteran Kendall Gill, who is now a NBA TV analyst, joined us live from the event site during our ABC 7 Eyewitness News Saturday Morning to tell us about the event. Besides Gill, the festival will feature other special guests, including Larry Stewart, General Manager of Basketball Operations from the Chicago Bulls/Sox Training Academy, and Mickey Pruitt, former player for the Chicago Bears and Super Bowl XXVII Champs the Dallas Cowboys.
The Carole Robertson Center for Learning is named in memory of Carole Robertson, Addie Mae Collins, Cynthia Wesley, and Denise McNair, the four girls who were killed in the 1963 16th Street Baptist Church bombing in Birmingham during the Civil Rights Movement.
