Latino students lead nation in bridging achievement gap
Latino students have made remarkable strides in the past decade; four times as many are now taking advanced placement tests.

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Latino students have made remarkable strides in the past decade; four times as many are now taking advanced placement tests. In fact, Latino students in Illinois lead the nation in bridging that achievement gap; they comprise about 18 percent of all students statewide, but more than 20 percent took at least one AP exam during high school. AP classes are key to achievement and college admission and performance.
