Downers Grove-based DeVry University agreed to pay a $100 million settlement on Friday after being accused of false advertising.

As the ABC 7 I-Team reported in January, the Federal Trade Commission alleged DeVry mislead students about job placement rates in its advertisements.

The school claimed 90 percent of its graduates actively seeking employment landed jobs in their field within six months of graduation. Federal investigators claimed that was untrue. DeVry is one of the largest for-profit college chains with dozens of campuses nationwide.
